As a probe into his alleged attempts to tamper with Georgia's 2020 presidential election results heats up, Donald Trump claimed on Thursday that he "did nothing wrong" there.
Despite President Joe Biden's close victory in Georgia, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her colleagues are investigating whether Trump and his allies improperly attempted to compel state authorities to declare him the winner.
Trump Says Not He But Others Did Wrong During 2020 Election
Trump's denial comes after two of his closest allies, Senator Lindsey Graham of the United States and his former attorney Rudy Giuliani, were among a group of individuals who were subpoenaed by Fulton County. Willis' inquiry is centered on a phone call Trump made to Brad Raffensperger, the secretary of state for Georgia, in January 2021, in which the president urged Raffensperger to 'find' the votes he would need to win the state.
According to Daily Mail, the former president said, "I did NOTHING wrong in Georgia, but others did," in a subsequent tweet. Trump also hinted to a forthcoming "letter," most likely to the Fulton County prosecutors. With a margin of 11,779 votes, or less than 0.25 percent, Biden won Georgia.
Raffensperger added that Graham called him 10 days after the election and inquired as to whether he had the authority to revoke mail-in ballots from certain counties. Graham subsequently said he wasn't doing improperly and was just seeking information to better understand the mail-in ballot verification process.
Trump and his allies, according to Willis, have "a multi-state, coordinated plan in a court document submitted on Tuesday, "to sway the outcome of the November 2020 election in Georgia and internationally."
Graham and Giuliani were served with subpoenas on Tuesday as a consequence of the grand jury's investigation into the accusation, which began in early May. John Eastman, Kenneth Cheesebro, and Jenna Ellis, among others, were named as targets because they developed plans to reverse Biden's victory in
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who made calls to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his staff following Election Day, received a similar request. The inquiry into Trump and his legal team's attempts to void Biden's victory in Georgia and other crucial states includes the grand jury probe, as per NY Post.

Court Demands for Guiliani's Testimony
The 45th president also justified as "PERFECT" calls to Raffensperger in which he requested that he "find" 11,870 votes in order to surpass Biden's vote total in Georgia and win the state. According to the official figures, Biden received 11,779 more votes than Trump, making him the first Democrat to win Georgia since Bill Clinton did it in 1992. In March 2021, The Washington Post revised a correction to an article on a call Trump made to France that had been published on January 9, 2021.
Willis describes Giuliani as both a personal lawyer for Trump and "a major counsel for the Trump Campaign's legal actions aiming to influence the results of the November 2020 election in Georgia and elsewhere" in the demand for Giuliani's testimony. She said that as part of those attempts, he and others sent a Georgia state Senate panel a video of election officials that Giuliani claimed showed them obtaining "suitcases" of illegal votes from unidentified sources away from election poll observers.
Within 24 hours after the hearing on December 3, 2020, Raffensperger's office rejected the veracity of the video and claimed to have discovered no evidence of voter fraud at the arena. Nevertheless, Willis said that Giuliani persisted in asserting widespread voting fraud using that refuted film in public speeches and in subsequent legislative hearings, as per Fox News.
Bob Costello, Giuliani's lawyer, said that he had no more comment and that no subpoena had been issued for his client. Attorneys Kenneth Chesebro, Cleta Mitchell, Jenna Ellis, John Eastman, and Jacki Pick Deason are among the additional five possible witnesses for whom Willis also filed papers on Tuesday.
