Rihanna reached another milestone in her career when Forbes recently named her as youngest self-made billionaire woman in the U.S. and solely under 40 at age 34.
Currently, the pop icon ranks 21 on Forbes' list of wealthiest self-made women in America. Rihanna net worth 2022 is estimated at $1.4 billion.
Kylie Jenner once held the title, but the Forbes net worth index indicates that she is no longer a billionaire having a net worth of $600 million. She currently ranks 41 on the list.
Last August, Forbes declared Rihanna billionaire, largely due to the popularity of her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty.
Rihanna Was Scared of Being a Billionaire
Rihanna explained to Extra's Rachel Lindsay in September why she felt pressured being labeled as a billionaire, as per an Elle story.
The pop superstar said: "It's scary. I do think about it all the time. I make it a point to think about it, because I...get scared when, you know, the pedestal comes into play and we'll put you up there and they keep wanting to put you up there...I'm like, 'No, I want to be on the ground.' I want to feel my feet on the ground because I know it's not going to be a fall at all if anything, right?.... I don't want to be this icon...I want to remember who I am."
However, Rihanna eventually realized the ultimate purpose of being financially successful.
"I want to be able to share my inspiration, I want to be able to be an inspiration, and I want to be inspired by even my fans, people who look up to me, I look up to them. And it's mutual respect that I have because I wouldn't be here without them," she noted. Hence, she embraced being Rihanna billionaire.
Rihanna welcomed her first kid, a boy, with A$AP Rocky in May, adding "mother" to her extensive list of achievements. Following their casual, chilly stroll in New York City, the star and the rapper made her first pregnancy announcement at the end of January.
Since then, RiRi has been creating ensembles of runway-ready looks at Milan Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and other events, redefining maternity wear.
RiRi's Promise to Fans
Billboard reported that the artist behind the hits "Umbrella" and "B**ch Better Have My Money" also promised her fans that the long-awaited sequel to 2016's Anti is still in the works.
Early this year, Rihanna quipped that her fans "would kill" her "if they waited this long for a lullaby."
Rihanna is one of the celebrities who has effectively leveraged her stardom to launch several profitable business endeavors and partnerships.
In collaboration with LVMH's Kendo Brands, RiRi debuted her Fenty Beauty makeup brand in September 2017. In its first two months, the firm generated $100 million in sales. The line earned $570 million in 2018. According to sources, Rihanna owns 50% of the company.
In addition to Fenty Beauty, Rihanna also shares ownership of the 2018-launched lingerie line Savage X Fenty. She owns 30% of this company. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Savage x Fenty is currently worth $1 billion.
She is also a co-owner of music streaming service Tidal with other music icons Jay-Z, Madonna, and Kanye West.
