In an unexpected visit to Kyiv on Saturday, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke with Ukraine's president, assuring him that "your fight is a fight for everyone."

President Biden has expressed interest in visiting Ukraine, but there are currently no preparations in the works for him to do so, according to the White House.

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, said on Monday that the White House has no plans in the works at the moment, but that officials would continue to evaluate.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., led a legislative delegation of Democratic members to Kyiv over the weekend to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, prompting speculations about a possible trip to Ukraine for the president.

Pelosi Meets Poland's President

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken paid a visit to Ukraine last week. After an emergency NATO conference in March, the president headed to Warsaw, Poland.

Although it is unclear to whom Biden was referencing, the president is unlikely to visit Ukraine owing to security concerns. Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, visited Kyiv. Johnson was seen going around the streets of Kyiv with Zelenskyy and interacting with people in footage released by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense.

In March, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetsky, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, and Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa visited Kyiv to meet with Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Furthermore, US diplomats returned to Ukraine this week, a step that Biden administration officials believe signals support for Ukraine and is part of the US resolve to restore diplomats to our Kyiv embassy as quickly as possible, according to Fox News.

After months of siege, civilians are finally being evacuated from the bombed-out steel mill where hundreds of people have been sheltering in the last Ukrainian stronghold in Mariupol, the crucial city that is otherwise under Russian control.

Russian forces have been shelling Mariupol as they try to make headway in their latest onslaught in the province, and the rescue mission comes after weeks of futile attempts.

The United States and its allies have increased military aid to Kyiv. Pelosi met with Poland's president on Monday while first lady Jill Biden is scheduled to visit NATO allies Romania and Slovakia this week to speak with war refugees.

The Kremlin has few global allies, and it now appears to have alienated one of the few countries that have remained relatively neutral throughout the war after Israel condemned Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's comments comparing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, whom Lavrov falsely claimed also had Jewish origins, as per NBC News.

President Joe Biden Has No Plans To Visit Ukraine

President Joe Biden would want to visit Ukraine, according to his spokeswoman, but there are currently no preparations for him to do so following House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's weekend visit.

However, during her daily briefing, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki made an intriguing remark, implying that officials are planning an event to commemorate US-Ukraine solidarity around May 9 - Russia's Victory Day, a date that some analysts believe President Vladimir Putin is aiming for to complete his annexation of eastern Ukraine.

President Joe Biden would not travel until the conditions on the ground were perfect, according to Psaki. It comes amid rumors that Vladimir Putin may make a significant revelation at the May 9 military parade, which will commemorate the conclusion of Russia's World Fight II war with Germany.

This weekend, the first lady will meet Ukrainian refugees fleeing Russia's invasion, spending Mother's Day with a fraction of the millions of people who have been displaced since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, Daily Mail reported.
