Las Vegas Puppy Shop Owner Who Set Store On Fire With 27 Dogs Inside Receives Jail Time

The Las Vegas pet shop owner who reportedly set her own store on fire with 27 puppies trapped inside received jail time for the crimes, according to the Associated Press.

Justice of the Peace judge Janiece Marshall ruled Gloria Eun Hye Lee would spend time behind bars while she awaits her first hearing on Feb. 24. Lee's bail was set at $310,000 - a $27,000 jump from the initially introduced bail of $40,000.

It's unclear whether the owner of Prince and Princess pet store will make bail.

Animal rights protestors commended the Las Vegas judge's decision to put Lee in jail during the interim period, calling the former business owner a danger to the community.

Lee was charged with 31 counts of conspiracy, burglary, attempted animal cruelty and arson, after reportedly setting fire to Prince and Princess Puppy Boutique, AP reported.

Firefighters managed to bring all the puppies out alive after the Jan. 27 fire.

Prosecutor Shanon Clowers told the judge on Friday that Lee, along with a man later named as Kirk Bills, were responsible for the blaze. Authorities referred to surveillance video that they said depicted Lee and Bills igniting the fire.

Bills hasn't been arrested, but faces the same charges as Lee.

Lee's attorney told AP that her client intends on fighting those charges.
