Slut Mail: Woman Receives Credit Card Offer Addressed To 'Lisa Is A Slut McIntire'

Calling someone a "slut" probably isn't the best way to sell something.

Lisa McIntire of San Francisco, California received a credit card offer from Bank of America that was addressed to "Lisa Is A Slut McIntire." McIntire, who is a feminist writer, tweeted pictures of the "slut" addressed letter on Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, McIntire said the letter was sent to her mother's house in Menlo Park, California. Her mother sent her a text message about a piece of mail addressed to "Slut McIntire."

"What kind of got my adrenaline pumping is that I'm a feminist writer on the Internet, so getting a piece of mail that my mom is opening that says I'm a 'slut' made me think, 'Oh god, which troll of mine is doing this?' " McIntire told the Los Angeles Times.

A Golden Key spokeswoman later told McIntire that at one point someone put the label "Is A Slut" into her membership file between 2004 and 2008, the Los Angeles Times reported.

"They haven't been able to pinpoint how "Is A Slut" became my middle name, but they're still investigating," McIntire tweeted Thursday.

McIntire told the Los Angeles Times she is surprised certain words aren't flagged when they are inserted as someone's name.

McIntire tweeted Thursday evening that a Bank of America representative apologized for the letter and said they do flag some words, however "slut" isn't one of them.
