Miley Cyrus Turns Down 'X-Factor' Judge, Incapable of Being the Bad Guy

Miley Cyrus turned down an offer to be a judge on the popular show "X-Factor" because she felt she wasn't capable of criticizing contestants' talents.

Miley Cyrus is one of the most celebrated teenage stars and as a singer along with an actress, it was only but natural that Simon Cowell's "X-Factor" team approached the starlet to be a judge on the singing show.

Cyrus reportedly turned down the offer saying she would not be able to criticize contestants' singing even if they sounded like "nails on a chalkboard."

"I just don't know if I want to be some dream crusher," NDTV quoted Cyrus as saying. "Would you really want to sit there as someone is belting their heart out - even if it is like hearing nails on a chalkboard - and then say to them, 'You suck?'"

Miley admits she was "scared" of being too critical to a young wannabe, which could land her with a reputation for being "harsh."

"I have no filter, so I would be scared I would say something and they would go home and say, 'Miley Cyrus ruined my dreams'. It seems harsh," she told reporters.

In early July, there were rumors that Cyrus was also being considered as a panelist for "American Idol." But she reportedly didn't take the offer too seriously and the idea was dropped.

Adam Lambert was also rumored to be up for judge on the show, but that too proved to be a rumor.

"If Idol wants to talk to me about judging, I'd be more than flattered to have that conversation," Lambert said in a released statement at that time.

Ultimately, it was Demi Lovato and Britney Spears who joined Cowell and L.A Reid as judges on this season's "X-Factor."
