The latest "Walking Dead" spoilers focus on Rick Grimes' state following the Governor's attack on the prison. The last time viewers saw Rick, he was in pretty bad shape. He witnessed Hershel being killed right in front of his eyes, the safety net of the prison was destroyed and his baby daughter Judith is missing and presumed dead.

It's fair to say that things are not looking too good for Rick. There's been several video promos that showed the character beaten and bruised, leaving fans to wonder what's going to happen in the remaining eight episodes.

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, spilled some details about his character to Entertainment Weekly. He starts off by saying that Rick is "in the worst place he's been." Following the prison attack, everyone is forced to either break up into smaller groups or fend for themselves.

Lincoln told EW that the remaining eight episodes will have "a lot of characters that you haven't seen under the microscope as much... have their chance to shine."

"It's very character driven, very soulful - much more reminiscent of the first season, I think, just because they're all out and alone and they're much more vulnerable," he said. "And also because they're apart from each other you realize that without each other their family is dying. The underpinning of all this is the great hope they can find each other again."

He didn't reveal which characters would be paired together but said there are "some very witty pairings."

As far as his daughter, baby Judith, Lincoln said: "She's gone."

"I think, as you've seen in the episode, she's gone," he added. "That's it. That's the feeling for Rick and Carl."

So, just because Rick and Carl think they'll never see Judith again, hopefully that doesn't mean creator Robert Kirkman is thinking the same thing. Kirkman did reveal that viewers will find out when the show returns on Feb. 9.

The 40-year-old actor also told EW that Hershel's death has a very heavy impact on his character. Rick pleaded with the Governor not to kill Hershel and sadly he watched as his friend and the voice-of-reason was murdered.

"Man, he never gets a break. It's not an easy guy to play," Lincoln told EW. "There aren't many calls that he makes that go right, let's be honest. That was the death now to that way of living. That's done, that compromise Rick was attempting to make and had made with the offering of peace to the Governor. Hershel was a father figure and a mentor, he was the bedrock for everybody, he was the moral conscious."
