Growing Older With a Little Help

Have you ever wondered what growing old will be like for you or the ones you love? Will you age gracefully? What will your health be like? What about your body? Will you be physically fit enough to carry out day-to-day tasks on your own?

Growing old is a privilege, but with age comes the realization that perhaps one day you may require some help. As your younger self, it's hard to imagine a time may come when you will be frail and unable to complete everyday tasks quickly or without some assistance.

You might have contemplated home care before. Suppose you are in the New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland areas. In that case, there's something for you: one of the many home care packages available to you at Home Caring. Growing old in a dignified manner without feeling like a burden is a possibility.

What Is Home Care?

If you are independent and not willing to leave your own home's comfort and security yet acknowledge that you require some help with caring for yourself, then home care is for you.

A home carer is an expertly trained professional skilled in caring for an older person or couple in their home's comfort. The level of care required will determine which home care package is best suited for you or your loved one.

Home Caring offers four different levels of home care packages:

  • Level 1

The most basic package available is perfectly suited to those who still want to live with independence but need support in performing everyday activities.

  • Level 2

Level 2 will be suitable for you if you have lower care requirements with some level of independence.

Low-level care needs include exercise classes, podiatry, transport, podiatry, and shopping.

  • Level 3

Level 3 is a higher level of care, including medication administration and treatment support.

The home carer can all provide social support, including transport services, health support, and even gardening.

If you require this level of care, it may be necessary to install some useful modifications to your home, such as rails and ramps.

  • Level 4

Level 4 is the highest tier of care available. On this level, the home carer will visit you twice a day in addition to what is available on Level 3 care. This level is ideal for people living with dementia.

Once you have assessed your needs or those of your loved one, you will need to apply for the level of home care which is best suited for you.

The Australian Government funds up to a specific limit on each level, so getting home care will not create the added burden of financial stress.
