Colorado Pastor Arrested After Luring Man Into Motel, Performing Robbery and Posing as US Marshal

A pastor from Colorado was arrested last week, after he posed as a United States marshal during a robbery.

According to a report by the Associated Press, 43-year-old Michael Todd Abromovich coaxed a Denver man into a motel room with him by suggesting that they engage in sexual relations.

Once the victim, whose identity has not yet been released, entered the motel room, Abromovich then proceeded to rob him, saying that he was a marshal and that he'd come to take his belongings.

Abromovich managed to swipe a computer and iPad from the other man before he let him go.

According to ministry officials from Set Free God in Colorado Springs, Abromovich has worked as a pastor in the church for at least one year. Not only did Abromovich preach, he also organized fundraisers and taught Bible classes.

Abromovich was taken into police custody in Phoenix last week. He's been charged with theft, impersonating an officer and kidnapping. No plea has been entered, nor has bail been set.

The 43-year-old has been since transferred to Denver, according to AP.

It's unclear whether Abromovich has an attorney at this time.
