Tori Spelling's husband Dean McDermott stated this week that he chose to enter a rehabilitation center in hopes of restoring himself to full health and being able to support his family.
In a statement released to People magazine, the 47-year-old reality television star revealed details on his decision to go to a treatment center.
"I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues," he wrote in the statement published on Wednesday. "I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves."
Dean's statement indicated a sense of remorse for the tough time his family has reportedly been experiencing since the end of last year. Rumors swirled around McDermott earlier this month, after word go out that he'd reportedly cheated on Tori Spelling in December.
A 28-year-old woman named Emily Goodhand told US Weekly that she'd engaged in sexual relations at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel last month.
Goodhand told the magazine that McDermott said he and Spelling had a "sexless marriage" at the time, and that she believed him.
"I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I've caused my family," McDermott continued in this week's statement.
McDermott and Spelling are the parents of four children: 6-year-old Liam, 5-year-old Stella, Hattie, 2, and 16-month-old Finn.
