A New York City strip club brags that it has the tallest stripper pole in the city. At least three strippers can fit on the 25-foot, floor-to-ceiling pole, the New York Daily News reported.
Vivid Cabaret, located at West 37th Street and Sixth Avenue, claims that the 7.6-meter pole is more than double the height of other poles in the city. The club plans to debut the pole on at its grand opening on Jan. 29. Several porn stars, including Tera Patrick, are set to take a spin on the pole at the premiere.
"It's sturdy enough and long enough to do all the tricks I know," Carlie, a dancer at Vivid Cabaret, told the Daily News. "There are a lot of clubs, but the poles are never big enough to do all the tricks I've learned."
With the Super Bowl approaching, the pole is guaranteed to attract football enthusiasts visiting the nearby "Super Bowl Boulevard." The boulevard, stretching from 34th to 47th Street, will hold free games and attractions in celebration of next month's NFL Super Bowl.
Shaun Kevlin, Vivid Cabaret's manager, told the Daily News several athletes have already booked tables for the day of the Super Bowl, Feb. 2. The game can be viewed from the club's 20-foot projection screen, or on one of the other enormous TVs.
Evelyn, another Vivid Cabaret dancer, told the Daily News how she plans to celebrate when the game is over.
"I don't really have a favorite team," Evelyn said. "But if any team wins, I'll take my dress off."
Stripper poles are meant to entice onlookers to visualize they are the pole, and the stripper is wrapping herself around them, Carlie, 22, told the Daily News. The experience will be enhanced by the extra long pole come opening day.
No matter the pole's length, however, the strippers will never be naked. New York sate law requires strippers be clothed when alcohol is served, the Daily News reported.
