Microsoft Advertises Office 365 with Free Wi-Fi Hotspots

Microsoft is advertising its new Office 365 by giving out free T-Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot packs in selected U.S. editions of Forbes magazines.

With every company investing big in advertising its products, you need to think out of the box to grab people's attention. And that's exactly what Microsoft is doing. The company is going out full swing to advertise its latest Office 365. The new addition to this advertising campaign is the distribution of free Wi-Fi hotspots.

Microsoft has announced that it has packed into selected copies of the U.S. edition of Forbes 15 days free T-Mobile Wi-Fi hotshots with built-in routers.

According to an Engadget report, the routers will serve up to five devices at once, and the battery life is around 3 hours per charge. It hasn't been revealed whether the subscription can be renewed after the 15-day free trial gets over.

"A magazine with a hotspot, however, is fresh -- and might just get us to notice the ads we normally skip. Americans who've received a special issue of Forbes have flipped past the articles to discover a fully functional (if stripped down) T-Mobile router tucked into a cardboard insert," Engadget reported. "Once activated, it dishes out 15 days of free WiFi for up to five devices at once, at up to three hours per charge. Microsoft is naturally hoping that we'll see the value of always being in the cloud and pony up for an Office 365 subscription."
