When it was announced that ABC would be doing the "American Idol" reboot, fans were a little surprised but the network's entertainment president Channing Dungey feels that the timing is perfect and she is hopeful of the show making a grand return. However, she did not give out details about the premiere date, judges and other faces who would be seen on the show.

ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey feels that it is the perfect time for "American Idol" reboot. According to Los Angeles Times, Dungey is pretty hopeful about the prospects of the show and is confident that it would draw viewers and fans. However, she has not revealed any details about the show's premiere date and the names that have been signed in for the "American Idol" reboot.

While speaking at a media conference, Dungey said that ABC is thrilled about "American Idol" reboot and to them, it is the ideal show to give company to "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Bachelor." Elaborating further, she said that she loves "American Idol" because it brings forth inspiring stories of people who work to realize their dreams. It is in sync with the philosophy of ABC.

However, when asked about the premiere date of the singing reality show, she said that at present she cannot make any official announcement and the ABC team is still figuring out things. She did not even confirm host Ryan Seacrest's return and only said that they are in talks with potential candidates. Notably, Seacrest had said some days back that he got calls from ABC but did not confirm anything.

So, one will have to wait on his front but one can be sure that former judge Simon Cowell is not coming back to the show as he has declared that he got a call for "American Idol" reboot but refused the offer as he does not find the show interesting anymore.
