Riverside Police Find Body and Car Connected to Christmas Eve Double Murder

Riverside police found a car connected to a Christmas Eve double murder on Friday, with an unknown male's body inside.

Authorities have been searching through the Southern California city for the dark green Toyota Camry and the potential driver, Gianni Leonardo Belvedere, since his fiancée and younger brother were found dead at a shopping mall in San Diego in December.

Police were called to the Westfield Mission Valley Mall on Friday afternoon, after someone reported a strong, pungent smell coming from the 2004 car with Utah license plates.

According to San Diego 6, the deceased man's identity has not yet been identified.

Officials are still unsure of the man's cause of death, SDPD Lt. Mike Hastings told Press-Enterprise newspaper.

Belvedere's family members were found on Dec. 24 at around 1:15 a.m., dead in an automobile parked near a Christmas tree lot in the Camino del Rio North mall.

Fiancee Ilona Flint and brother Salvatore Belvedere had been shot in the head, San Diego 6 reported. They were last seen about three hours before the murder, according to a relative who spoke with reporters.
