Following the announcement of its first DLC, Onslaught, Activision has announced some new details regarding its bundle's content. As well as some more details about the mission objectives on some of its new maps, including one that will either make you or pit you against one of cinema's most ruthless murderers, Michael Meyers.
The initial announcement of Onslaught came as an Instagram video that ran over the theme to John Carpenter's 1978 classic horror movie "Halloween." As it turns out, that was no accident, the new DLC map "Fog" will allow you to play as Meyers and stalk other players with an axe through the map. The area comes complete with horror movie settings like an abandoned cabin, a campsite and a torture chamber. Sure you'll be wielding some of the most modern weapon technology in the world, but will that be enough to stop the masked killer?
In addition to the horror movie throwback, the main focus of the DLC, according to Activison, will be "Episode 1: Nightfall" the first installment in Extinction mode's four-part episodic narrative that's set to introduce new characters as the storyline expands, similar to the way Call of Duty: Zombies has. The DLC will include a new weapon and alien species to the battlefield.
According to IGN, Fog will come alongside other maps such as BayView (close-quarters set on a boardwalk with gift stores and an aquarium to hide in), Containment (small, set in war-torn Mexico), Ignition (a re-imagined version of Scrapyward from Modern Warfare 2 set in a Florida space launch facility).
Infinity Ward is planning to release four DLC packs from "Call of Duty: Ghosts." They will be named: Onslaught, Devastation, Invasion and Nemesis. Together, the first letter of each of these DLC packs spells out ODIN, the Norse mythology leader who is commonly associated with war. Those who have played Ghosts will also recognize the significance of the name as well.
