At least two people have been injured at a Roswell, N.M. middle school, after a gunman walked on campus and opened fire.
The suspected shooter has been arrested, according to New Mexico police who spoke with Yahoo's Good Morning America.
Authorities stated that some victims had sustained injuries, but their current status, along with the exact number of wounded people, has not yet been publicized.
The two known victims were transferred from Berrendo Middle School to Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.
According to a report by ABC News, two people were harmed in the shooting, but officials still haven't said whether they were children or adults.
State Police Public Information Officer Emmanuel Gutierrez stated that the children were being transferred by bus from the school to Roswell Mall, where parents could pick them up. Authorities have requested that parents keep away from the school campus.
"Currently, the threat has been alleviated and this incident is being investigated," a statement from the New Mexico Department of Public Safety read. "There are many resources and law enforcement officers on the scene securing the area."
