The New York Yankees are one of the most celebrated baseball team in the MLB. However, their 2016 season was a failure for them haven't able to proceed to the playoffs this year. But now, it looks like they are targeting to sign Chicago White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier this offseason.

The Yankees, who've been tagged as one of the greatest baseball franchise, are also one of the favorite baseball teams in MLB. They've won 18 division titles, 40 American League pennants and a remarkable 27 World Series championship in its 114 major league season. And now, they are looking to revive their potent form next year after a disappointing showing this 2016.

Reports are now saying that the Yankees are just waiting for a sign from the White Sox to make a deal. According to Yanks Go Yard, the Chicago White Sox are considering of trading Chris Sale this offseason and if that happens, it could be a hint that third baseman Todd Frazier is also available and ready to be pick up for the Yankees.

The report also says that a package of young studs like Gary Sanchez, Gleyber Torres or Clint Frazier might be the best offer the Yankees can give to the White Sox in order to acquire Frazier. Frazier, who have a batting average of .225, 40 homers and drove in 98 runs last season, might fill in Yankees' 3B Chase Headley spot.

Headley, who got an awful 2016 season, is said to be on the trading block after reports are spreading that the Yankees are opening their doors to trade him to other teams. And acquiring the 2-time MLB All-Star Frazier from the White Sox could be a perfect replacement for Headley.

As reported by NJ, aside from the New Jersey native Frazier, the Yankees might go all the way and sign also the left-handed ace Chris Sale from the White Sox. Though it is most likely that they will pick Frazier over Sale if ever the White Sox are truly shopping both players.

The Yankees might place Frazier as semi-regular DH but many say that it is still best for the Yankees if Frazier will still play his regular position as a third baseman or a first base depth alongside Greg Bird. For now, the Yankees might wait for White Sox to make a move to make a decision for their future.
