Glee's Lea Michele Makes Solo Career Debut, Releases First Music Video Of 'Cannonball' (WATCH)

Glee's Lea Michele has released the music video of "Cannonball", the single that marks her solo career debut.

After watching the music video, people are forced to draw an immediate comparison between the video and how the songstress has struggled to cope with the death of her real and reel-life boyfriend, Cory Monteith, who passed away on July 13 2013.

The entire video is divided into two parts. The first part features Michele wearing a black dress in what appears to be an old warehouse. The majority of the video maintains a dark theme as Lea is seen singing with minimal lighting. The second part of the video, however, switches to a brighter mood, as Michele is seen wearing a white dress in a room with bright blue lighting.

The video could symbolize how Michele was tied down with the death of Monteith and later fought her way back from mourning.

"It's very hard, but you will find it, and I think at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this or you can choose to rise. And that's what I'm just trying to do my best for him, because I know that that's what he would have wanted," the actress said to host Ellen DeGeneres during her appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last December.

People were shocked to see that Michele was seen frequently on the "Glee" sets rather than spending time at home. The actress revealed that she liked it that way.

"They're my family," she said. "What people also don't understand is that going to work is no harder than being at home and being in the house and opening up a closet and seeing a pair of shoes. There's this grief [that] goes with you every day whatever you're doing - when there are great moments, when there are hard moments - so I'd rather be at work with the people who I love that are going through the same thing."

The single is the first release of her new album "Louder", which is scheduled for release on Feb. 28, 2014.
