The beauty industry is making its way through the English alphabet.
In 2012 and 2013 beauty counters across the nation exploded with BB Creams and CC creams - moisturizing, blemish removing, anti-aging remedies and makeup all in one.
Now one company, Previse Skincare, is planning to launch the EE Cream in March 2014. Meant to stand for "Extra Exfoliating," the new EE MarineGranules cream is a plant-based mousse that can be used to enhance any skin cleanser, The New York Daily News reported. EE creams will be a lighter, easier exfoliator than the Clarisonic brush.
"We wanted to have a little whimsy with these double letters," Patrick Harrington, founder and CEO of Previse Skincare, told Women's Wear Daily, according to the Daily News. "We felt there was an opportunity to talk about adjacency products about getting skin in its fittest condition. What we love about BBs and CCs is that they have multiple benefits and with the EE, it's a double-duty product as well."
BB creams, or Beauty Balms, are advertised as being a moisturizer and sunscreen that also comes in colors to enhance your complexion. CC creams, or Color Correction, are meant to give skin stronger protection from the sun, while fighting off blemishes and skin discoloration.
The letter "D" wasn't forgotten- DD creams, Dynamic Do-All, were marketed to do everything BB and CC creams do, and then some.
There are other companies that have already advertised products labeled as EE creams, but the letters stand for different meanings. Omorovicza has an Elemental Emulsion moisturizer that makes skin look less shiny, the Huffington Post reported.
The Previse Skincare EE cream will be available for $40, according to the Daily News.
EE creams are anticipated to bring in $1 million in profits during its first year of sale, The Huffington Post reported.
