With 'Rick and Morty' Season 3 scheduled to be back this December, it has the fans anticipating how the storyline will take shape in the upcoming season. Moreover, it is rumored that the release date for Season 3 might be delayed due to the difficulty that the writers are facing in giving shape to the plot.  

A few weeks back, Adult Swim released the prologue of the upcoming 'Rick and Morty' Season 3, claims iTech Post. According to the prologue, the season will have Rick escaping from the prison. He will also discover that everything that happened was a lie and in reality, he is an animated character in someone else's story. This revelation will make him depressed.  

Moreover, writers Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have revealed that 'Rick and Morty' Season 3 will be darker in terms of storyline. They also said that the season will get deeper into the plot, which is interdimensional.

It is also being said that the writers are facing trouble and they fear that maintaining the storyline will be difficult. And, this fueled rumors that the writers are still struggling to fix the plot and tackle the darker storyline.  

However, other reports state that the writers have already completed their work and it is in final processing stage at Bardel Entertainment, Christain Daily reports. So, the season will start from its scheduled time, in December.

Moreover, the news outlet also states that 'Rick and Morty' Season 3 will have 2 more episodes, so the upcoming season will have 14 episodes.

Though nothing has been confirmed regarding the release date of 'Rick and Morty' Season 3, but showrunner Dan Harmon assured the viewers that the upcoming edition will air by end of 2016, at the San Diego Comic-Con in July.

It must be mentioned here that "Rick and Morty" have its own way of catching the viewer's interest. And, Season 3 will be nothing different as it will have crazy adventures where Rick will continue his fighting inside the prison while Morty's parents Beth and Jerry will go through the craziest divorce procedure.
