One Queens man was killed and three others wounded after a shooting occurred near 134th Avenue and Farmer Boulevard in Springfield Gardens yesterday.
New York 1 reported receiving calls from residents of the New York City neighborhood at about 4 p.m. on Friday saying they'd heard shots.
42-year-old Jamal Green was pronounced dead on-site. Two men - one of whom sustained a life-threatening wound to the neck - and a woman were transported to a local medical facility, according to NY1.
Police, who said they think that most, and probably all, of the wounded were inside a car at the time of the shooting, detailed reports from eyewitnesses saying that some of the suspected gunmen might have taken off in a dark-colored car.
Authorities are still unsure how many suspects were involved in the shooting.
An investigation has been opened into the case, NY1 reported.
The identities of the victims have not yet been publicized.
Green, who was a local rapper by the name of Mazaradi Fox, was reportedly acquainted with 50 Cent, whose representative expressed his condolences.
