Marvel is starting 2014 off right as the rumor mills churn out some interesting news for "Star Wars", "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Agent Carter" fans.

First, the one confirmed report from Marvel and Lucasfilms: new "Star Wars" comics and graphic novels are a go! Marvel is taking back the comic series they first published in March of 1977.

"Dark Horse Comics published exceptional Star Wars comics for over 20 years, and we will always be grateful for their enormous contributions to the mythos, and the terrific partnership that we had," Carol Roeder, director of Lucasfilm franchise publishing, Disney Publishing Worldwide, said in a news release. "In 2015, the cosmic adventures of Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewbacca will make the lightspeed jump back to Marvel, to begin a new age of adventures within the Star Wars universe."

Next, we know the live-action "Guardians of the Galaxy" will hits theaters Aug. 1, but ComicBookMovie.com reports there may be an animated series in the works:

" [A source] has confirmed to us that Marvel do indeed have plans for a new animated series focusing on the Guardians Of The Galaxy. Word is that Marvel were undecided on whether to go with GOTG or yet another Spider-Man cartoon, and although the latter may also happen, it seems they've settled on the Guardians for now."

If there are plans to create a "Guardians of the Galaxy" animated series, it will likely air on Disney XD, according to ComicBookMovie.com.

Lastly, Hayley Atwell may have landed her own "Captain America" spinoff show titled "Agent Carter". Atwell played Peggy Carter in the "Captain America" movies as the superhero's love interest, according to the Mirror Online.

"This is a massive deal for both Hayley and Marvel comic fans," a source told the Mirror.
