An Indiana woman named Bonita Lynn Vela, 35, has been arrested after cutting a the genitals of a man who she thought molested her 2-year-old son, the New York Daily News reported.
Vela and two other men held her daughter's 18-year-old boyfriend hostage and accused him of molesting her son and having sex with her daughter, according to the Daily News. The victim was only released after his genitals were cut with a box cutter, which Vela claims she did accidently.
The 18-year-old boy said Vela was "extremely mad" and told him to "choose his life or his penis," according to the Daily News.
According to a police report, Vela said "she wanted to scar him so that he would have to look at it every time that he had sex in the future," the Daily News reported.
The teen claims he did not molest Vela's son but that she would not listen when he tried to tell and insisted he pull down his pants, which he said he obliged to out of fear, according to the Daily News.
According to the report, Vela allegedly said "she was going to have people hold him down and she would cut (his penis) all the way off," the Daily News reported.
In a statement, Vela said she went to a neighbors to smoke marijuana before taking the teen prisoner, the Daily News reported. Vela added she was not sure if she had taken other drugs.
According to the report Vela said if the teen "didn't have anything to hide then he should let her cut him and that regardless of what happened he was to leave and never come back," the Daily News reported. She added she did not intend to hurt him but only wanted to scare him away.
She was arrested and taken to Johnson County Jail where she was charged with criminal confinement with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon, the Daily News reported. Police said the investigation is open and will investigate the mothers molestation claims.
