Google plans on making it easier for Android users to find their lost or stolen phones with a new update to its "My Account" service.

The search giant says that all users will need to do to find this option is Google "I lost my phone," and they can then make the phone ring at maximum volume, lock it, locate it, call it, secure their account and leave a callback number on the screen.

The new feature is the latest tool to debut for the purpose of helping Android users find lost devices, such as the Android Device Manager app, which lets users locate, ring or remote wipe their device from the web.

The update follows a year after the My Account site made its debut with the purpose of offering users centralized access to privacy and security settings in Google's services so that they can better protect and manage their data and privacy. Tools used to ensure this include Ads Settings as well as Privacy and Security checkups.

While Google says that both iOS and Android users will be able to access similar options from the My Account page, the company is unable to take control of iOS users' devices. These users will instead be directed to their iCloud and Apple's Find My iPhone tracking.

Additional benefits of the My Account Update include providing a tool for calling your phone, as well as the ability to sign out of Google services remotely, which can help keep your account safe from hacks.

Users will also be given suggestions on how to get a hold of their carriers or local lost and founds on Google Maps.

In addition, Google is letting users launch the site from the Google app by saying "OK Google, show me my Google account." This feature is currently only available in English, but Google plans on adding support for other languages in the near future.

Google also says that you'll soon be able to access My Account just by Googling your own name.

"When you entrust your data to Google, you should expect powerful security and privacy controls," Guemmy Kim, product manager of Google's account controls, wrote in a blog post on Wednesday.

Customers can begin using the new "Find your phone" feature now, and Google plans on adding search integration in the near future.
