The season six finale of AMC's "The Walking Dead" was a less than ideal conclusion. Negan and the Saviors had taken Rick's merry band of zombie slayers captive, and one of them ended up on the receiving end of Negan's barbed wire wrapped baseball bat, Lucille. Unfortunately (and inexplicably), showrunner Scott Gimple chose to conceal the identity of the victim and end the season on an ill-advised cliffhanger.

While we still don't know who exactly was sent to the great Safe Zone in the sky, series creator Robert Kirkman did just reveal who will be dying by the time "The Walking Dead" finishes its run. Why he would let slip such crucial information is beyond us, though it's possible that he was just being cheeky.

Here's what he had to say:

"Rick, Carl, Michonne. In the show, Daryl Dixon, eventually Abraham, Rosita. Rostia's already dead in the comics. Jesus."

Kirkman dropped this bombshell while attending a panel at a Hawaii Comic Con. He was answering a young fan's question regarding the end game of the series. It's strange that he would nonchalantly list off the main characters the show plans to kill off, though at least Carol, Morgan and Eugene weren't among the departed. He did not provide a timeline for when fans should expect these character deaths.

We assume that the premiere of season seven will include one of these deaths, as the show must wrap up the Negan scene. Rick and Carl are expected to survive and Jesus wasn't present for the scene, so we can rule out those three for now. That still leaves a handful of people who could be killed off. Rosita is not the only character who is already dead in the comics and Daryl isn't even in the source material, so it's hard to say who bit the dust in the season six finale.

"The Walking Dead" still boasts the best ratings of any TV show, so we expect the series to continue for a few more years. That means we may not be getting these main character deaths for some time. We'll have to wait and see.

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC for a seventh season in October.
