Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, came back to Earth Thursday to do the weather report at a local news station in Chicago.

The actor was the perfect person to read Thursday's weather report due to the thunderstorm that was quickly approaching the Windy City. To explain why the Chicago area was experiencing such unfavorable weather, the actor blamed everything on his on-screen brother Thor (who is played by actor Chris Hemsworth) - afterall, Thor is the God of Thunder.

"My brother from another mother has been misbehaving," Hiddleston joked. "The God of Thunder has brought his skill set to bear on the local weather. There's a huge storm front coming in, and all that means is Chris Hemsworth has taken his hammer and smashed it on the surface of the sky and it's going to rain a hell of a lot. So, good luck with that."

Hiddleston and Hemsworth have co-starred as brothers Loki and Thor in the first two "Thor" films as well as "The Avengers." The two are set to share the big screen again in the third installment of the film series, "Thor: Ragnarok," which is set to come out in 2017.

The 35-year-old actor was in Chicago to promote his new film "I Saw the Light," in which the Brit stars as American country music legend Hank Williams. The film co-stars another veteran from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Elizabeth Olsen. Olsen and Hiddleston were rumored to be romantically involved while shooting the film, but nothing was ever confirmed.

Earlier this week, Hiddleston showed off his impressive singing skills on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." The actor and the host discussed the dark side of the singer, who passed away at the young age of 29. Before the interview was over, Colbert requested that Hiddleston sing with him. The actor first denied Colbert's request and said, "I feel that if you want to see me sing, you should go and see the film."

However, Hiddleston saying no did not stop Colbert from singing. The host launched into a solo version of the classic Williams song "I Saw the Light," which the movie is named after. Colbert's singing finally motivated the actor and he joined in, happily singing along in the tone of Williams.
