"Gran Turismo 6" just launched to lagging sales, especially when compared to its predecessor "Gran Turismo 5." While the game is meant to be a driving simulator, this time around the developers wanted to take things a step further by trying it simulate what it is like to actually be a car owner. However, owning a car is an extremely difficult and expensive obligation. Luckily the people over at IGN have early adopters covered.
A cheat has been discovered that will result in a $20,000,000 credit grab. Before learning how to take advantage of this exploit, it's worth noting that you should act fast as the cheat will likely be patched out very soon. You'll need the 1.01 patch and a 1,000,000 credits to pull it off. (According to the site, 1,000,000 credits can be purchased for $9.99).
- In Vision GT, purchase the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo and save your game.
- Quit the game. In the PlayStation 3 menu, use the Game Data Utility to delete the Gran Turismo 6 1.01 patch.
- Start the game, but do not download the new patch when prompted.
- Go to the garage. Your new car will now be titled "[2055]"). Sell the car and you will appear to get an enormous amount of credits -- over 300,000,000 -- but this will be reduced to a 20,000,000 after the transaction.
20 million credits is worth about $190 of real life cash. In the game, it is more than enough to buy a Ferrari 250 GTO CN.3729GT '62 (which costs 10 million credits).
A more complete list of how to pull off this cheat can be found in the video below or HERE via IGN's Wiki page for "Gran Turismo 6."
