Offensive linemen tend to be the most overlooked players on Sundays, as fans tend to want to watch quarterbacks, receivers and running backs make dynamic plays while often forgetting the importance of strong blocking. It's only when the offensive line truly struggles when fans start to take notice, but NFL franchises and general managers know the importance of the offensive line as they can have a significant impact on the success of an offense in the NFL.

Top offensive linemen free agents have been coming off the market quickly, as Kelechi Osemele landed a massive deal with the Raiders and former Seahawks guard J.R. Sweezy has a signed a new contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There are still some of the top-tier offensive linemen available in free agency, and former Seahawks offensive tackle Russell Okung is arguably at the top of the list.

The Seahawks have reportedly made a "strong offer" to retain Okung, but he reportedly is still seeing what the market will offer him as teams like the 49ers, Lions and Giants have all joined in pursuit for the talented offensive tackle. Each team has need at offensive tackle this prior to the 2016 season, and he reportedly has meetings with both the Giants and Lions on Friday.

New York and Detroit are both expected to make moves to bolster their offensive lines this offseason, and if neither is able to land Okung it wouldn't be shocking if either franchise targeted an offensive tackle in the first round of the draft. The Giants have heavily focused on bolstering their defense after finishing last season with one of the league's worst, but also know the importance of keeping quarterback Eli Manning upright.

The Lions also looking to protect quarterback Matthew Stafford, as he was sacked 44 times last season - only one less than Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. While each team has a strong need to land a starting offensive tackle, the San Francisco 49ers currently have the most cap space. It will be interesting to watch how this all plays out, as Okung is representing himself as he meets with NFL franchises.

The Seahawks are also reportedly meeting with former Steelers offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum, who is considered the second-best offensive tackle left in free agency after Okung. All four teams are looking to acquire a strong offensive tackle this offseason, and only time will tell where both Okung and Beachum end up in 2016.
