Christopher Nolan's 'Insterstellar' Trailer Coming Dec. 13 Along With 'Desolation of Smaug,' What's It About?

Movie trailers have become an art in their own right. There was a time when the only way to see a preview from a film was to pay the money to see another film and arrive early. As a result, no one paid much attention. Now with many sites online passing around trailers to the point where they become completely impossible to ignore, the medium has some attention.

As a result, directors such as "The Dark Knight" trilogy's mastermind Christopher Nolan have not only found a way to turn trailers into just as much of a cinematic experience as the movie, but to get people excited for its release as well.

A new tweet form The Film Stage, seems to hint inside knowledge about the trailer for Nolan's new movie 'Interstellar' and says it will go live as soon as 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' hits theaters on Dec. 13.

"The first trailer for Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar' is 1 minute and 43 seconds, attached to 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,'" the tweet read.

Not much is known about the plot of Nolan's new film. IGN reports the film will be "a space adventure about wormhole travel between dimensions" inspired by the scientific theories of astrophysicist Kip Thorne. The site also points out that, if the Film Stage's tweet is correct, the projected length of this first teaser for the film beats that of Nolan's previous original film, Inception, by 39 seconds. If this trailer is anything like that one, it can be expected to be just as vague as it is mesmerizing.

The trailer will debut along with the new installment in Peter Jackson's "Hobbit" trilogy. The trailer should hit the Internet very soon after to show off Nolan's film prowess following his last film "The Dark Knight Rises."
