Batman Prequel ‘Arkham Origins’ to Release In October

Warner Bros. announced the release of Batman franchise prequel "Batman: Arkham Origins," which will go on sale Oct. 25, according to Game Informer.

"Batman: Arkham Origins" is the next game in the Batman series following Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Gamers will get a fresh look at the early Batman before he transformed into the Dark Knight. Rocksteady, the game developers for the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, did not make the game, it has been developed by the Warner Bros. Games Montreal who have promised to continue to offer the gamers the delight and quality experience of the previous series.

The gamers will see several important characters as the levels of the game will unfold.

"Batman: Arkham is a huge triple-A videogame franchise and we are delighted to expand the experience with Batman: Arkham Origins," Martin Tremblay, WB Interactive Entertainment president, said in a statement. "WB Games Montreal had an incredibly talented team building upon Rocksteady's award-winning gameplay and technology to deliver a deep, immersive, quality experience fans will love."

The Games Montreal team includes great work from the creative director Eric Holmes. Holmes has previously displayed his work of art in The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Prototype, says the Game Informer report. He was also the man who wrote the miniseries, Transformers: Megatron Origin, for IDW (Idea + Design Works, LLC), as Simon Furman took a break from writing the prequel of the series.

Reid Schneider, executive producer, WB Games Montreal, said he was lucky for having had an opportunity to continue the game series. "We are huge fans of the franchise and are committed to creating an experience that offers players more of what they love, as well as the chance to play as a younger Batman within a fresh storyline and expanded world," he said in a statement, according to a report from PC Mag.

Arkham Origins will be released for PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PC. Warner Bros. Games Montreal are also developing a spin-off, "Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate" for Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita. Both versions of the game will go on sale Oct. 25, this year.
