Michelle Obama had what could turn out to be a major slip of the tongue Thursday, according to CNN.com.
The first lady mistakenly called herself "a busy single mother" in an interview with CNN-affiliate in Vermont WCAX.
"Believe me, as a busy single mother - or I shouldn't say single - as a busy mother, sometimes when you've got a husband who is president it can feel a little single. But he's there," the Obama said.
During the interview she was discussing the issues that arise when trying to eat healthy while being a busy parent. The Obama's have two daughters, Sasha and Malia.
The first lady visited the White House kitchen garden Thursday, to help young students plant vegetables. She has been a pioneer in fighting childhood obesity by encouraging children to eat healthier and live healthier lives.
"As a busy working mom, and before I was in the White House, I was in that position as well. Working, driving kids to practice, not having enough time to shop or cook. Not having the energy. Resources weren't the issue, but time and energy is key," she told WCAX.
Obama's husband, the president also made some controversial remarks this week.
President Barack Obama issued an apology Thursday to California Attorney General Kamala Harris for comments about her appearance, according to Politico.
At a fundraiser in California, the president of the United States said Harris "happens to be by far the best-looking attorney general in the country."
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney explained Obama's apology during a press briefing on Friday.
"He called her to apologize for the distraction created by his comments," Carney said. He added that the president also "apologized for the remark.
"They are old friends and good friends," Carney went on, according to USA Today. "And he did not want in any way to diminish the attorney general's professional accomplishments and her capabilities."
At the fundraiser Obama also called Harris "brilliant," "dedicated," and "tough."
