Four people were found dead in a Massachusetts home on Monday, according to police in the eastern town of Arlington.
Among the deceased were two infants, a woman and a man, the New York Daily News reported.
The bodies were found by a law enforcement official who visited the house to check on the residents' welfare shortly after 12 p.m. The Boston Globe reported that the officer arrived at Newland Road and Summer St. after one of the children's caretakers couldn't get inside the house.
After an initial investigation, police are still unsure what the cause of death for each of the four victims could have been, and they could not say whether there was foul play involved. Law enforcement also told the Globe that they haven't corralled any suspected gunmen yet.
The female victim's brother informed WBZ-TV that the man and woman found dead in the house were in the midst of a "nasty divorce." He said the two kids who were discovered inside the home were twin boys.
A crowd of neighbors slowly gathered outside the house. They told the Globe that they were stunned to find out that there were clearly serious issues in the family that lived in the quiet suburban area.
"It's a great neighborhood," 74-year-old Amy Iannelli said, adding that it was the first time in the many years she'd walked her dogs past the house each day that police were at the residence. "I am heartsick to think that kids..." she trailed off, before finishing, "It's heartbreaking."
