It seems the NFL may not necessarily agree with Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning's assertion that the Al Jazeera America report of his wife receiving human growth hormone via mail was "a total fabrication" and, ultimately, "outrageous." The league will, per an Associated Press report, be conducting a "comprehensive review" of the allegations levied against Manning and his wife, Ashley Thompson.

According to NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy, the investigation, which involves "reviews of records, interviews and coordination with other agencies," began "weeks ago."

As part of the Al Jazeera report, Charles Sly, a former intern at an anti-aging clinic in Indianapolis was recorded in secret suggesting that deliveries of HGH were delivered to the Manning home, in the care of Thompson.

Manning strongly denied the claims and an Al Jazeera journalist later denied that the report made any claims against Manning specifically.

It is unknown when the conclusion of the investigation will come, but it's not expected prior to the Broncos squaring off against the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7.
