In a bizarre accident, Zac Efron slipped in a pool of water outside his Los Angeles home and broke his jaw. The actor also got a deep gash on his face that required several stitches.
Zac Efron, the "Lucky One" actor was recently released from rehab after completing a five-month program for his cocaine and alcohol addiction. The actor took to his Instagram account to post a picture of him on a trek, looking hale and hearty. Now, in a recent TMZ report, it has been revealed that Efron reportedly broke his jaw over the weekend when he accidently slipped in a pool of water outside his Los Angeles house.
Along with the broken jaw, Efron also recquired several stitches for a gash on his face that he got during the fall. According to reports, the actor's jaw has been wired shut, leaving him incapable of talking for a while.
Considering his recent rehab visit, the media speculates that the broken jaw may not have resulted from merely a "slip" but from some other "bizarre" accident. Efron's voluntary rehab admission may have come as a shocker to his fans, but his friends and family already knew he needed professional help for his addiction.
"He realized he needed outside help," one friend explained to US Weekly. "He reached out for it and is doing great now. He just needed to find himself," another friend told the tabloid. "With him acting sometimes erratically on the set of his recent film 'Neighbors' his real friends started to worry about him."
Recent reports have it that the actor is dating Lily Collins. Efron's family members think the relationship will do him a whole lot good to deal with his addiction problems as well as start afresh.
"Lily is the perfect girl for Zac to be dating right now. She's young, gorgeous and smart -- but more than anything, she doesn't drink or use drugs," a source told StarPulse.com. "Zac knows if he wants to save his career and his life, he needs to stay sober and it's making his transition a lot easier to be dating someone like Lily."
Owing to his cocaine addiction and recent rehab release, the actor has had to cancel the promotional tour for his upcoming film "That Awkward Moment," which is slated for a January release.
