Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie is down to 4 percent support in New Hampshire, according to a new poll released today. He was at 12 percent support just one month ago, according to the same poll, reported the Hill.

Republican front-runner Donald Trump leads with 26 percent support, according to the new poll by WBUR. Trump is followed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who have 15 percent support each. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has 10 percent support and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has 7 percent support. Christie ties for eighth place with Carly Fiorina.

The results come just one day after a CNN/WMUR poll found Christie tied with Kasich and Rand Paul at 6 percent. The back-to-back polls are sure to be a blow to the Christie campaign, which has dedicated much time and resources to the early voting state, which has its primary less than three weeks away.

In New Hampshire today, Christie told an audience that he was ready to take on the Republican front-runner, saying he has "a plan" to do so. "I'll do what I need to do when I need to do it," said Christie, according to USA Today. "Trust me on this: I have a plan."

Christie encouraged voters to call the real estate mogul out on his lofty statements, suggesting they are undeliverable. "I tell everybody who goes to a Donald Trump event, if you get to ask a question, just ask him 'How?' " said Christie. "I don't care which of the things he talks about, just ask him, 'How? How?'"

Christie added: "I can answer 'how?' because I've done it."
