Jonas Brothers are calling it quits. Nick, Joe and Kevin told People magazine that they have all decided to go their separate ways. This news comes three weeks after the group cancelled their tour due to a "deep rift within the band."
On Oct. 9 just two days before the tour was scheduled to begin the boy band announced to stunned fans that the tour was cancelled and people would get a refund of their money. The reason for the cancellation was vague.
A rep for the group said that there was a "deep rift within the band. There was a big disagreement over their music direction." A week later the group shut down their official Twitter account.
"It's over for now," Kevin told People.
"It's really hard to say 'forever,'" Nick said. "We're closing a chapter, for sure."
"It was a unanimous decision," Joe added.
Reportedly the decision came after an Oct. 3 meeting where Nick told his brothers that he was really worried about the group's future.
"I was feeling kind of trapped," he said. "I needed to share my heart with my brothers."
The group has remained silent about the split but there were rumors that Nick was demanding more money, Kevin wanted to bring his pregnant wife, Danielle Jonas, on tour with them and Joe had an alleged secret drug problem.
"The reason they cancelled was due to Nick not getting along with his brother's anymore, especially Kevin," a source told Holyscoop. "Kevin was demanding that his wife go on tour and Nick cannot stand her. Neither can Joe."
Joe told People that the allegations about him are completely not true.
Bonnie McKee, who once toured with the band mate told MTV that she wasn't quite sure what happened but was hoping the guys would be able to get it together.
"Not all is lost and I hope that the Jonas Brothers work it out," she said. "I don't really know exactly what went down, but I know that everyone's kind of at odds. So I hope that they work it out because I think they're very talented."
According to the New York Daily News, the brothers will be still working on new music and have decided to focus on solo projects. Nick and the Administration are reportedly working on another album.
