A man presumably dressed as a ghost and wearing a white sheet was captured on security surveillance footage at an Anniston, Ala. liquor store, running through the aisles back and forth and into the bathrooms and backrooms, Q13Fox reports.

"We received an alarm call at the ABC store on Highway 431 Wednesday morning," Sgt. Chris Sparks of the Anniston Police Department told the news station. "That's when the moment happened; I guess we'll call it."

The suspect, who can be seen falling momentarily and readjusting his white sheet in parts of the tape, has been linked by police to a similar incident at a local bar.

"There was an attempted burglary in South Gadsden at a bar," Sparks said. "It's probably the same suspect. He was wearing the same attire."

While the "ghost" caught the attention of local police and could face third-degree burglary charges if caught, some suspect it was merely meant to shock and amuse locals right before the upcoming holiday.

"Probably a practical joke, Halloween," customer Doug Conner told Q13Fox. "People ain't got much to do, so they just get out and party. He was probably high."

The "ghost" also didn't manage to steal anything from the store that he broke into, perhaps because he was too busy fiddling with and tripping over his costume, though he did manage to briefly check the bottles while he was dashing by, though for exactly what remains unclear.

"He didn't prepare himself very well," Sparks said. "He thought about all the things. He wore gloves, he put something over his head, but he couldn't manage to keep it straight the whole time."
