Rockstar Games has pushed out the latest title update for "Grand Theft Auto: V" and "GTA Online," earlier on Friday. The update fixes a wide variety of issues including persistent problems that multiplayer users have had with vehicles and vehicle modifications disappearing on players.
According to IGN, the update was rolled out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will be automatically downloaded the next time each user loads the game while connected to the Internet.
In a post to the Rockstar Newswire, the company explained that the issues were being caused by failures to the cloud save function. Cloud saves will likely continue to be a problem. As a result, part of the fix is to make it clear to users that when the cloud save function is experiencing failures, no new characters will be saved.
Other issues that were covered in the fix is a exploit that allowed users to sell the same vehicle over and over again. The problem lied in the utility bills not being payable. Also an issue with the starting point for the opening tutorial race was not showing up for some users - this problem has also been fixed.
One major tweak in the update that players will immediately notice is the cut in how much users will spend on hospital bills when they die in free mode. Now, users can't lose more than $500 when they meet their end while roaming the open world map. As IGN puts it, this should "help to reduce the sting of being gunned down by aggressive players in public games."
Rockstar announced earlier this month that it will be issuing an in-game rebate of $500,000 to all players who have muddled through the early launch issues during the month of October. Most of the early launch troubles have been resolved and the company hopes to take care of the last of them with this new fix, however, only time will tell if the company can ever actually perfect such a bold multiplayer venture.
