Daisy Coleman Missouri Rape Case: Second Alleged Sexual Assault Victim 'Demands Justice'

A second alleged victim in the Missouri sex assault case making national headlines has come forward demanding justice.

The Kansas City Star released a feature about Daisy Coleman, who was allegedly run out of Maryville, MO. after she accused a football star Matthew Barnett of sexually assaulting her at a party she attended in 2012. Coleman was 14-years-old at the time while Barnett was 17-years-old.

Coleman and her family claim they were terrorized by the residents for going against a boy with political connections. Soon after the family moved out of the town, their house was burned to the ground.

Coleman snuck out of her home with Paige Parkhurst, 13-years-old at the time, to attend a party with boys who allegedly "cajoled them into chugging alcohol," ABC reports. Barnett allegedly raped Coleman while another boy photographed and recorded the crime. The same allegedly happened to Parkhurst, and the girls were left passed outside in the 30 degree weather without their jackets.

The charges against Barnett and the boys were dropped.

Coleman came forward with her story, and Parkhurst has followed her lead, conducting interviews and posting her thoughts on her personal Facebook page.

"My thoughts on the media picking up to what happened to me and my friend are why didn't you do something when this all happened," Parkhurst wrote, ABC reports. "Why didn't you feel this way when we were being bullied harassed and made to feel like sh**. But now that our families are finally healing is when you want to spark this back up. I want justice to be done and I've wanted that for the past year and a half now."

In a blog post for XOJane.com, Coleman wrote about how the alleged crime has affected her more than a year later:

"My scars only come to the surface when I'm tan or cold now. It's as if over time my body learned to heal some of the ugly, but it will always be a part of me. Just like this case. It will live with me forever.

"Since this happened, I've been in hospitals too many times to count. I've found it impossible to love at times. I've gained and lost friends. I no longer dance or compete in pageants. I'm different now, and I can't ever go back to the person I once was. That one night took it all away from me. I'm nothing more than just human, but I also refuse to be a victim of cruelty any longer."
