Microsoft previously announced its comprehensive game releases until 2017. The long list of games is part of the Xbox One's drive to outclass its rival gaming platform, Playstation 4, as HNGN previously reported. Here are some of the widely anticipated games that have confirmed release dates.

Blizzard's "Overwatch" will debut for the Xbox One in the spring of 2016. An origins edition will also tag along, which will include in-game items for every title in the Blizzard library, according to The Verge. While the game has been previously rumored to be free to play, Blizzard revealed that it is not. The company, however, can only confirm a $59.99 price tag for "Overwatch's" PC version so far.

Erstwhile PS4 "exclusive" "Rocket League" is also finally heading to the Xbox One platform and soon. "We're looking at all kinds of platforms and there may be some announcements coming up at some point. Hopefully before the end of the year," Dave Hagewood, director at Psyonix, maker of Rocket League, told Red Bull about the game's Xbox debut. "Rocket League" is the surprise smash hit of the year, as it is reportedly on its way to selling at least 5 million copies.

Finally, "Tekken 7" rounds up the upcoming games that will launch for the Xbox One in 2016. This game will reportedly work with virtual reality technology and is being developed using Unreal Engine 4.

For those who do not know, "Rise of the Tomb Raider" was also just released Tuesday, just in time for the holiday season.
