Conservative pundit Ann Coulter has found herself in hot water once again after comments she made in an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity; Coulter blamed "hucksters and shysters" within the Republican Party for losing elections, according to United Press International.
Coulter's remarks were mostly aimed at Liz Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, and her campaign for Senator in Wyoming. Cheney is challenging the incumbent Mike Enzi in the primary election, according to Politico.
"The problem is we have hucksters, shysters, people ripping off the Republican Party for their own self-aggrandizement, for their own egos, to make money," Coulter said on "Hannity." "I would put Todd Akin, New Gingrich, Liz Cheney, Mark Sanford all in the same boat, and the consultants who persuaded Linda McMahon and John Raese to run."
Coulter argued that there was no reason for any Republican to challenge, and possible win, for the nomination when the incumbent is a Republican who has done a good job in the eyes of conservatives. Coulter would go on to question the motives of those who were running.
"These are people looking for TV shows and looking to make money," Coulter said. "I love Liz Cheney, but why should we have a primary against a good Republican senator other than for Liz Cheney's ego?"
In an interview with Mediaite Coulter recently said that she prefers to watch MSNBC more than any of the other news channels, primarily because she finds it entertaining, according to Politico.
"I watch because it's inadvertently funny," Coulter said. "Many people have said the problem with the Internet is that people will compartmentalize and only read stuff that they agree with. Nowhere is that more evident than on MSNBC! People say blindingly false things and never get checked."
Coulter defended Fox News, a network that often hears the same criticism, albeit for leaning conservatively instead of liberally.
"I think if you watched nothing but Fox, you would at least know what they're talking about on the other networks," Coulter said. "If you watch MSNBC, however, you'd have no idea what the other networds are talking about."
