A body discovered in Bear Mountain Park in New York is believed to be Sang Ho Kim, accused of shooting two former co-workers at his old office last week, WPIX reported.
Authorities found the body on Monday morning in Iona Island in Stony Point, which is a part of Bear Mountain Park, and was taken to a medical examiner in Rockland County for identification.
According to officials, the body appeared to have been in water for several days.
Kim, 63, allegedly entered his old work building last Wednesday morning in Garden City and shot at two former co-workers. The chief executive officer, John Choi, was critically injured while a second employee, Zachariah Yong Jae Shin, was killed.
Last Thursday, officials discovered Kim's vehicle -- the 2008 white Honda Pilot he was witnessed fleeing the scene in -- abandoned in Sandy Beach Park.
"There was some disgruntlement between him and the company that he was attacking," said Nassau County Police Chief Skrynecki on Thursday, who declined to release names of the victims.
"It seems to be over some bad business deal or some issue with a business deal that they were involved in."
Following reports of the shooting, the Roosevelt Field Mall -- across the street from Savenergy, Kim's former workplace -- was placed on lockdown and local schools were placed on lockout, meaning no one could exit or enter the school campuses. Students were released at normal times, according to Cindy Morris of the Garden City superintendent's office.
Skrynecki said it was not likely Kim was looking to harm any people outside of Savenergy.
"There is no suggestion that the perpetrator is looking for other people to shoot," he said. "We have nothing to suggest this individual is on a random shooting rampage."
A funeral for the slain employee was held on Monday morning.
"Very kind man, very polite, always wanting to meet deadlines, smile on his face," said Brad Sagona, a coworker of Shin's. "We will miss him quite a bit."
