A group of teenagers from two rival high schools in Texas made a mess of a local Whataburger by engaging in a food fight of epic proportions after a close football game, according to Yahoo.
After Brandeis High from San Antonio beat their in-town rival O'Connor High 12-10 groups of students congregated at the local fast food joint which they proceeded to trash in a whirlwind of a food fight that lasted a mere 30 seconds but left the restaurant in disarray, according to Yahoo.
After the incident administrators from both schools offered to go through surveillance video footage in order to determine which students were responsible for the fracas. Whataburger had no interest in doing so and didn't want to press any charges; instead they released a statement welcoming students to the restaurant, according to KENS-5.
"We understand that this act was an emotional moment between a small group of students and not representative of the entire student population," the statement from Whataburger said. "The Whataburger team will continue to welcome Brandeis and O'Connor students at our restaurants and we're also committed to continuing the partnership and support both high schools."
Despite the restaurant taking the fight in stride and with good nature Pascual Gonzalez, a spokesperson for the Northside Independent School District, said that disciplinary action was still going to be taken against the students who participated in the food fight, according to the New York Daily News.
"Campus administrators will review videos to identify students who will face appropriate consequences including suspension from school," Gonzalez said in a statement. "NISD will also cooperate with law enforcement and restaurant management in pursuing criminal charges if warranted."
In the video the students seem to be having some light hearted back and forth with each other. Once a single cup is thrown through the air it is a matter of nanoseconds before the entire restaurant is engulfed by flying food items.
