UPDATE Jan. 5, 2:57 a.m. EST:

Pets Happy Zone checked up on Sushi and this beauty is still waiting for a home! "People think all conures are too noisy and they pass them up," Fran from A-Parrot To A-Flamingo Rescue told HNGN in an email. "This one is not that bad."

If you love sun parakeets, but hate the racket they can make, Sushi could be your perfect match!

Sushi is a sun conure (also known as a sun parakeet) available for adoption in Brecksville, Ohio. Four-year-old Sushi's sex is unknown, but he/she comes with a white iron cage, a stand and toys. "On a seed diet, will sample pellets, table food also," A-Parrot To A-Flamingo Rescue said, according to PetFinder. "Not noisy. Very beautiful bird. Needs a little handling. Prefers ladies. Wants attention."

Sun conures are very popular due to their bright colors. They grow to about 12 inches (tip of the beak to the end of the tail feather) and live about 25 to 30 years. "The sun conure is naturally playful and affectionate, making it especially suited for companionship," About.com said. "While most people admire their beauty and charming personalities, it is important to note that sun conures are very social birds, and may not be the best choice for those who have little time to spend with a pet.

"Many conures become screamers if they feel neglected, and some resort to destructive behavior if left unstimulated. With a little love, proper training, and socialization, however, sun conures make charming companions that are sure to brighten the homes and lives of the people that choose to keep them."

A-Parrot to A-Flamingo Inc. is a nonprofit no-kill that requires email interviews and proof of previous parrot ownership, or experience with a similar species. If you are interested in adopting Sushi or another bird, the first step is to email aparrottoaflamingo@danworld.com.

This video is not of Sushi, but another playful sun conure being taught how to speak by his owner:

Sushi is such a beautiful bird with primary yellows and secondary oranges; it makes us want to dance in the sunlight and sing:

"Kodachrome

They give us those nice bright colors

They give us the greens of summers

Makes you think all the world's a sunny day

I got a Nikon camera

I love to take a photograph

So mama don't take my Kodachrome away!"
