Tennessee Murder Update: Couple Charged With Quadruple Homicide

A couple was arrested on Friday for the quadruple homicide of a woman and three teenagers in eastern Tennessee, Fox News reported.

Jacob Allen Bennett, 26, and Lina Yvonn Moser, 25, were indicted on four felony murder and two attempted aggravated robbery charges. Police say the two murdered all four individuals after trying to rob them in a pot deal.

Bennett, who is the alleged shooter, was additionally charged with four counts of premeditated murder, meaning prosecutors could pursue the death penalty.

"There was some conscious reflection and decision made to execute these individuals," Deputy District Attorney General Gary McKenzie said.

Bennett and Moser are both being held without bond.

Although Bennett said he wanted to plead guilty during his arraignment, the judge assigned lawyers to both defendants and rescheduled a hearing for Oct. 3.

Kevin Marlow, Bennett's attorney, has not returned a message to comment on the case. Moser's lawyer, Kevin Bryant, declined to comment.

The couple is accused of trying to rob two of the four victims -- 22-year-old Rikki Danielle Jacobsen and 17-year-old Domonic Lewis Davis -- during a pot deal, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Their bodies, found with two other victims -- Steven Michael Presley, 17, and Jonathan Raymond Lajeunesse, 16 -- were discovered on Sept. 12 in the Renegade Mountain community.

McKenzie said prosecutors will decide to pursue the death penalty or life without parole for Bennett by the next scheduled court date.

Although Moser allegedly did not shoot the victims, her felony murder charges are based on the accusation that the deaths resulted from commission of a separate violent crime.

"The indictment alleges that she participated in the robbery," McKenzie added. "So she's on the hook even if she didn't pull the trigger."

Bennet was arrested on Sept. 13 for a parole violation in an area nearby the crime scene and Moser was arrested on Friday at her home in Dayton.

Residents in the rural eastern Tennessee area said they were shaken up from the quadruple murders.

"I couldn't believe it. Especially since there were kids involved. It shocked me," said Hershel D. Sanders.
