When the El Paso Chihuahuas, the San Diego Padre's Triple-A affiliate team, held their annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals of El Paso, they had no clue to the talent and determination to "make it" that one contestant would exhibit to the fans in awe.

Watch this VIDEO, you will be mesmerized by the sheer joy on his face, for sticking-it-to-the-man, and by the man, we mean the throng of people chasing him all over the field.

This isn't just any wiener dog; this is a rebel, think Charlie Sheen's character "Wild Thing" from the movie Major League. That's what the rest of the world is now getting to see in dachshund form in this hilarious video of a rogue wiener dog at the races.

Did he win the race? no. But this free spirit wanted more. He wanted what most of us would love to do; he wanted to run free on a professional baseball team's field. And for 2 whole minutes he did just that, living the dream.

He hit the main spots, sniffed the pitcher's mound, visited the bullpen, security, and as Sports grid aptly put it, he "stole third and then second, because this wiener is no slave to convention." All the while his exasperated owner and Chihuahua players and support staff tried to catch the short legged freedom runner.

"Run little buddy!" chants SB Nation. We echo the sentiment. Run free little wiener dog, I know I will if I ever get the chance to run amok at a pro ball field.
