Beyonce Talks about Miscarriage for First Time, Readies for Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Beyonce opened up about her miscarriage before Blue Ivy for the first time and also shared a few details about her Super Bowl Halftime show.

Beyonce has never really talked about her miscarriage during her early stage of pregnancy before she gave birth to Blue Ivy. Now, in a documentary titled "Life is but a Dream" that will air on HBO on Feb. 16, the singer will talk about the tragic incident for the first time.

"About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time, and I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life," the Grammy-award winner said in the documentary. "I picked out names. I envisioned what my child would look like, I was feeling very maternal."

However, a few months into the pregnancy, the singer realized something was wrong.

"I flew back to New York to get my check up, and no heartbeat," she said. "Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat."

The singer revealed that her music was what got her through the loss.

"I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I've ever written in my life," she said. She doesn't reveal which track it was but she did say. "It was actually the first song I wrote for my album. And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I've ever been through."

"Being pregnant was very much like falling in love," she said. "You are so open. You are so overjoyed. There are no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you, so, of course, you want to scream it out and tell everyone."

Beyonce will be performing at the Super Bowl Halftime show on Sunday.
