The NFL season kicks off on Thursday when the Denver Broncos hosts the reigning Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens. Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m. ET. Tune in to NBC or watch the live stream HERE.
With a revamped defense and a few new faces on offense, Baltimore begins its 2013 campaign in Denver. The Broncos, meanwhile, enter the game with revenge on their mind. The two teams met last year in an exciting divisional playoff game, where a 70-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco to Jacoby Jones tied the game with 31 seconds left, according to ESPN.
Baltimore went on to win in overtime, 38-35.
"I've got a pretty good feeling that the Broncos fans are going to make us remember (and) think about everything (and) think about everything that they want to," Ravens coach John Harbaugh told the team website, via ESPN. "We know the environment we're going into. It will be the same environment, or even tougher, than the one that we faced in January. And we're excited about that."
Thursday also marks Elvis Dumervil's first game back in the Mile High City since signing with the Ravens in March.
"I feel amazing," Dumervil told ESPN. "As of right now, I'm a Raven, and I feel great about that."
Former New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker is also playing his first game in a Broncos jersey. One of the league's premier slot receivers pairs with another future Hall of Fame quarterback in Peyton Manning.
One of the more interesting matchups of the night will be the Broncos receiving group against the Ravens secondary. On paper, Denver has one of the best receiving corps in the league - Welker, Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker - and they make their season debut with Manning, who's now almost two years removed from his neck surgery and with a full season in Denver under his belt.
