Sahuaro Principal Arrested for Alleged Assault After Punching a 16-Year-Old Student in the Face (VIDEO)

The principal of a school in Tucson, Arizona, was arrested for allegedly striking a 16-year-old boy who dated his stepdaughter.

Christopher Bonn, 40, the principal of Sahuaro High School, was taken into police custody Tuesday and has been charged with misdemeanor assault for punching a teenager in the face.

According to Tucson police who spoke with the Associated Press, Bonn woke up in the middle of the night on Sunday, early Monday morning, and realized that his stepdaughter had snuck out of the house. He stayed up, and waited for her to come back home.

When Bonn saw the two teenagers park near his house at about 4 in the morning on Monday, he opened the front door, and walked up to the car.

Bonn told authorities that once he'd approached the vehicle, he saw the young boy reach for an object between the driver's and passenger's seat that he thought was a gun. He then punched the kid in the face to prevent him from firing off what he thought was a weapon.

Video of the battered teen bears images of his face dotted with purple bruises and cuts.

The Tucson Unified School District has ordered Bonn to stay home while they investigate the situation and move forward accordingly.
