Matt Damon played host at Jimmy Kimmel's show while Kimmel, duct-taped to a chair and his tie wrapped to his mouth, just watched. Kimmel hardly uttered a word the entire episode.
Damon started off by responding to Kimmel's repeated yet humorous running joke of running out of time for Damon.
"I ran out of time for you [Jimmy]." Damon greeted the audience on Thursday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel with "Welcome to tonight's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Sucks. I'm your host Matt Damon."
"Just for starters, let me ask you guys this: As an audience, is it weird to see a person with actual talent host this show?" he asked.
Damon made a few changes as he appeared by replacing Kimmel's devoted sidekick Guillermo with Damon's sidekick actor Andy Garcia who came with a heavy accent of Guillermo. Damon also switched Bandleader Cleto Escobedo III with Sheryl Crow, who also performed her new single "Easy." Ben Afflick appeared holding to cue card in favor of Kimmel. Robin Williams also companied Damon his jokes.
"It took Jimmy 10 years to accomplish what I just accomplished in 90 seconds," he mocked at Kimmel.
"Jimmy always wanted to be an actor," he said, "and, unfortunately for him, I beat him out for every role he ever truly wanted. Jimmy has auditioned for every movie I've ever been in, every single one of them. How many did he get? None. So, he hates me."
As Damon continued with the show, string of celebrities appeared as guests who continued to mock at Kimmel including Nicole Kidman, who thinks Kimmel is not cool, and Demi Moore recalled an incident when she was invited for dinner where Kimmel said he'd made the pizzas, but turned out to be DiGiorno's pizzas. The guest list continued with Gary Oldman, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon.
"Jimmy is always complaining about how hard it is it book celebrities on this show," Damon said. "We're only halfway through and I've booked seven big celebrities -- and that's not even counting me!"
Damon finally called his favorite guest, Sarah Silverman, Kimmel's ex, with whom he shot the "I'm F---ing Matt Damon" video. Silverman then went on to describe her relationship with Kimmel.
"You know when you're in New York and you pass those hot dog vendors and you think, 'I'm not going to eat one, it's not for me,' and then the smell gets to you, and you pound two or three of them? And then later one, you're puking, 'Why did I put this inside of me?' And you think about the encasing and all the entrails that are probably in there? So I guess it's like that."
Damon concluded the show asking if Kimmel had anything to add and then quipped "Wait, I'm sorry, we're out of time."
